International Club of DC 6th Anniversary Gala and
Masquerade Ball at the National Museum of Women in the Arts

The 6th Anniversary of the International Club of DC was celebrated with a spectacular Masquerade Ball and Anniversary gala at the exquisite ballroom of the National Museum of Women in the Arts. The evening included dancing to music of 2 live bands along with a sumptuous seated dinner and delectable assortment of desserts.

A unique and unforgettable gala of Swedish holiday traditions, music, and dance awaited our guests at the Swedish Embassy – House of Sweden in the heart of Georgetown.

2009 New Year's Eve Gala celebration

Approximately 1,500 internationally-minded professionals celebrated the dawn of 2009 in style at the Wardman Park Marriott Hotel. The event featured internationally-inspired cuisine, music, and dancing to the music by 5 live orchestras. We look forward to seeing you at our 2010 New Year's Eve Gala celebration!

Piano Concert & Reception at the Embassy of Croatia

We enjoyed a special and rare opportunity to experience an evening of music, art, and culture at the Embassy of Ukraine. The evening included a dinner buffet feast of traditional Ukrainian delicacies as well as a performance by Ukrainian pianist Pavel Gintov from Kiev. We also browsed the embassy’s rare collection of beautiful paintings and artistic pieces. We hope to see you at our next embassy reception!

International Halloween Dance Party at the Park at 14th

Hilton Rooftop Live Jazz Under the Stars Followed By Latin Dance

An Evening of Champagne and Chocolate at Co Co Sala

We enjoyed Champagne & Chocolate Tasting at Co Co Sala. It was a wonderful way to experience chocolate in it's purest form. We experienced five different types of couverture in three different states: solid, semi-solid (ganache), and liquid.


Black-tie-Gala at the Embassy of Bangladesh

We traveled to Bangladesh for a black tie gala, cultural presentation, and dinner reception at the Embassy of Bangladesh. It was a wonderful opportunity for ICDC members to meet the Ambassador of Bangladesh, representatives of World Watch, as well as other distinguished guests and ICDC members in attendance. Embassy of Romania Reception and Piano Concert

ICDC members attended a very special reception at the Embassy of Romania to celebrate the entry of Romania into the European Union. The evening included a dinner reception and a piano concert performed for you by pianists from the International Society for Musically Gifted Children.

Argentine Tango Lessons and Latin Dance Party

Embassy of New Zealand Polynesian Luau

We enjoyed a Polynesian luau at the Embassy of New Zealand to experience two distinct Polynesian cultures: The Maori though their Polynesian costumes, song, and dance - followed by a Hawaiian luau experience. The evening also featured a taste of New Zealand with Polynesian (New Zealand and Hawaiian) inspired dishes. After a spectacular Maori dance and music performance, we enjoyed a night of dancing.

Sunset & Moonlight Kayaking on the Potomac

Our monthly sunset margarita cruises are very popular with ICDC members. They provide a wonderful opportunity to enjoy sights of the Washington monuments and the DC skyline while making new friends from around the world. ICDC August Happy Hour at the Rooftop of Club Five

Whether you are new to the club or a long-time member, our monthly happy hours are a great way to meet many other ICDC members in a single evening. The atmosphere is always friendly and you are sure to meet and make new friends with other ICDC members from around the world. Our last rooftop happy hour of the year is scheduled for Thursday September 28 at the rooftop of Club Five.

French Embassy Jive and Merengue Lessons

Salsa Dance Under the Stars Aboard Potomac River Yacht

On a magnificent summer evening, we enjoyed a memorable night of salsa dancing under the stars to the sounds of Origem. We danced the night away while enjoying panoramic views of the Washington skyline.

National Gallery of Art East Building Highlights Tour

We discovered the modern art collection contained within the East Building of the National Gallery of Art. The private tour was lead by a docent of the National Gallery of Art and was preceded by lunch as the Cascade Cafe. We look forward to seeing you at our next art gallery tour!

Our Friday evening sunset margarita cruises on the Potomac are a wonderful way to start your weekend. Watch the sunset and the Washington skyline come to life at a distance while enjoying a 2-hour relaxing cruise from the Georgetown Waterfront.

Nature Kayaking on the Potomac

2007 New Year's Eve Gala: A Celebration of Continents

Each year we organize Washington’s premiere New Year’s Eve Gala with entertainment and cuisine from around the world. To ring in 2007 in style we assembled an incomparable evening of dancing, sophistication, and elegance in the heart of Washington DC with the very best selection of live entertainment, including 5 live bands: Swing and ballroom dance music performed by the Tom Cunningham Orchestra, Origem Latin salsa band, Jamaican Reggae and Calypso Band, A Jazz ensemble, and an Irish band. Festivities for the evening also include two stunning balloon drops at midnight, caricature artist drawings, and mock casino gambling. Attendees also enjoy free flowing champagne throughout the evening, party favors, a full 5-hour premium open bar, champagne toast at mid-night, and gourmet tea and coffee.

We look forward to celebrating 2008 with you with another spectacular gala!

On the weekend of the summer solstice, we experienced a magical evening at the exquisite Grand Ballroom of the National Museum of Women in the Arts. The unforgettable Shakespearean celebration included music, food, wine and dancing to a 30-piece classical orchestra performing the world's beloved Viennese Waltzes and ballroom music. During the last half of the evening, we danced salsa, merengue, and other Latin dances to the sounds of the Origem Latin band.

Indian Cooking Class at Heritage

Swing vs. Salsa Dance Lesson and Party

Our swing vs. salsa dance lessons are one of our most popular dance events. After learning how to dance swing and salsa, we enjoyed a night of dancing to a mix of swing and salsa music. The evening also included a dance performance and mini dance contest.

We learned to play tennis with the help of expert instructors. The attendees were assigned to five different courts based on skill level. Languages of the World: French, Spanish, & German Discussion

Our Languages of the World language discussion series is very popular with ICDC members who speak a foreign language. In July, we practiced out French, Spanish, and German with the help of native speakers at each table. Our next language discussion session is scheduled for Sunday, September 09.

Hiking Trip to Great Falls Park

Over 40 ICDC members took part in a hiking trip to Great Falls Park in Maryland. We enjoyed the nature and wildlife as well as the spectacular views of Great Falls. After enjoying a picnic lunch, we hiked back home. Our hiking trips are ideal for enjoying the outdoors as well as meeting other ICDC members who are outdoor enthusiasts.

Argentine Tango Lessons and Latin Dance Party

We learned how to dance the Argentine Tango, as it is danced in Buenos Aires Argentina. Afterwards we enjoyed a night of tango and Latin dancing while meeting other ICDC members who love to dance.

July 4th Independence Day Fireworks Cruise on the Potomac

We had the best seats in town to enjoy the Independence Day Fireworks display. After watching a spectacular fireworks display we returned back to the dock.

Sunset and Moonlight Kayaking on the Potomac River

Gently gliding just inches above the water on a kayak while the sun sets at a distance is a surreal experience. After enjoying the sights of illuminated Washington monuments at a distance, we kayaked back to our private dock in Georgetown for a relaxing picnic dinner while meeting and socializing with other attendees. We look forward to seeing you at our next kayaking event on Sunday July 29.
