| ICDC members
enjoyed a private docent-led tour that took
us on a spectacular journey of the
first century of flight. It was a great opportunity
to see rare and one-of-a-kind displays of aircraft
and spacecraft. Located at Washington Dulles
International Airport, the Udvar-Hazy Center
provides space for objects
that tell the history of aviation and space
flight. The Center currently has over 80
aircraft and dozens of space artifacts on
display, including: +
Space Shuttle Enterprise
+ SR-71 Blackbird reconnaissance aircraft
+ Dash 80 prototype of the Boeing 707
+ B-29 Superfortress "Enola Gay"
+ de Havilland Chipmunk aerobatic plane |
