National Gallery of Art Series: Tour of the East Building
Sunday February 8, 2004

ICDC members enjoyed an afternoon at the East Building of the National Gallery of Art after a relaxing lunch at the Cascade Cafe. To introduce our members to the museum's modern art collection we arranged for a private tour of the museum's art collection led by a lecturer at the National Gallery of Art. Designed for the Gallery's 20th-century art collection and its Center for advanced Study in the Visual Arts, the East Building is known for its triangular shapes, dramatic sky lit atrium, and a sculptural space framing a 16,000-square-foot open interior court.
